The study found that many families are looking for countries and neighborhoods that offer "easy and affordable access to education and childcare, low crime rates and family-friendly policies to help support a growing family." The Netherlands one of the best countries in the world for families
The Netherlands recently received a high ranking of ninth place on a list compiled by the travel website Enjoy Travel, which evaluated the best countries in the world for raising a family. The country received a score of 115 out of a possible 125, with particular praise given to the overall happiness of children, as well as the Dutch education system, which is described as being "tailored to the individual needs and backgrounds of the pupils."
Additionally, the amount of available parental leave for fathers and partners was also noted as a strength of the Netherlands. However, the country did receive criticism for its lower score in the Global Safety Index, which was lower than that of neighboring countries.
This is not the first time the Netherlands has been recognized as a top country for raising a family, as in 2020, a report by Unicef found that the Netherlands was the best country in the world for child well-being, and another study by Asher & Lyric ranked the Netherlands as the 11th best country in the world to raise a family.
